Job Descriptions

EYEWEAR SALES SPECIALIST

The major duties and responsibilities are as follows: answer telephones and schedule appointments, take patient information and verify insurance, resolve any insurance discrepancies, provide patients with comprehensive explanation of their insurance benefits, order supplies, maintain front desk statistical reports, accurately process patient payment transactions, and help maintain an attractive appearance of the office.

Educational requirements are to possess a high school diploma. However, 60 hours of college credit or an associate’s degree is preferred. 2+ years of sales in an optical setting, or demonstrated success in a retail or office environment addressing a broad spectrum of customer requirements and preferences; high-end sales preferred.


OPTOMETRY TECHNICIAN

The major duties and responsibilities are as follows: gather medical history information, explain the exam process to patients, administer auto tests to determine the visual capabilities of a patient, administer medical testing per doctor instruction, set phoropter for optometrist, perform clerical duties, schedule patient appointments, training patients for contact lens, and other duties as assigned.

Other requirements are to possess a high school diploma and must be proficient once trained.


FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST

The major duties and responsibilities are as follows: answer telephones and schedule appointments, take patient information and verify insurance, resolve any insurance discrepancies, provide patients with comprehensive explanation of their insurance benefits, order supplies, maintain front desk statistical reports, accurately process patient payment transactions, and help maintain an attractive appearance of the office.

Educational requirements are to possess a high school diploma. However, 60 hours of college credit or an associate’s degree is preferred. 2+ years of eye clinic front desk experience, or demonstrated success in a medical office environment with medical billing experience.
